How Important Is Golf Flexibility?

We all know we could be more flexible to improve golf swing power and distance, but why do many golfers ignore it, and remain tight and inflexible? Golf flexibility is a KEY ingredient to more power and maximum distance.

With age comes a deteriorating strength and flexibility. This is the main reason for a lack of golf swing power, distance and even consistency.

Every major joint in your body must have a decent level of range of motion. From your ankles, through your knees, hips, core, shoulders, elbows and wrists. In fact, the wrists produce up to 75% of your clubhead speed, so being able to fully cock (hinge), and uncock (unhinge) your wrists late into your golf swing (lag) is a huge factor you must not ignore.

In the older golfer, arthritis wreaks havoc on flexibility. Joints nearly lock up, making a full shoulder turn alomst impossible. Wrist hinge is also nearly impossible. So golfers shouldn’t wonder why they’ve lost so much distance as the years go on.

It’s NEVER too late to embark on a flexibility program specific to golfers. I’ve seen golfers in their 80′s make huge improvements in their swing flexibility and power. There’s hope for any golfer willing to put just a few minutes a day into it.
